Program Overview

The Senior Nutrition and Wellness Program (SNWP / CSFP) provides low-income seniors 60 and older with a monthly box of nutritious food. Each box includes a variety of items such as canned meat, vegetables, fruit, cereal, pasta, rice or potatoes, dry beans or peanut butter, and American cheese. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also available when you pick up your box.

When you arrive, friendly staff and volunteers will help you get your box and answer any questions. The program helps seniors stretch their food budget while making sure they have healthy, balanced options each month.

To participate, seniors must meet SNWP/CSFP income requirements, be at least 60 years old, and provide monthly gross income, proof of residency, and a photo ID. Once enrolled, you must visit the same site each month to pick up your groceries.

The Senior Nutrition and Wellness Program is part of the USDA's Commodity and Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and is administered by the Nevada State Department of Administration, Purchasing Division; Food Distribution Program. For more information on either of these programs, or to inquire about whether you may qualify, please contact (775) 331-3663.

Non-Citizens & USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Programs
Non-citizens and their family members may be eligible to participate in several programs operated by the Food and Nutrition Service, including CSFP. Applying for or receiving benefits DOES NOT make someone a “public charge.” Visit the USDA's Non-Citizen Communities webpage for more details.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is an equal opportunity employer and provider. View the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Nondiscrimination Statement.

This program is available at select pantries at no cost to you, offering extra support when you need it. USDA foods typically include juices, canned fruits and vegetables, canned and/or frozen meats, dry beans, and pasta.
