Program Overview
SHINE provides cleaning and hygiene supplies at the Poquoson Mobile Food Pantry distributions each month. Items selected from laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, toilet tissue, Kleenex, toothpaste, and other non-food items typically purchased as part of a grocery budget are provided on a rotating basis. Personal hygiene items are always available.

Program Qualifications

Registration includes the following:

Name and Address with zipcode.

Total number in the household with breakdown of the number of adults 65+, number of adults 18 - 65, number of children under 18

SHINE also requests a breakdown of children's ages into 3 categories to best serve these groups.

Eligibility is the same as that of the Poquoson Mobile Food Pantry and includes participation in one of the following:

      SNAP benefits

      SSI benefits

      TANAF

      Medicaid

Or household income that meets the requirements for participation as set by the VPF.

New registrations for the SHINE Pantry to provide proof of residency from zip codes 23662 or 23693.
